GBA House

Located in a private community in Tarabya, Istanbul, this 700 Sqm private residence is meticulously designed to both its context and the spatial needs of a four-member family. Designed and constructed by REDA, the project integrates contemporary spatial articulation, fostering a dynamic interplay between built form and landscape.

The interior design elements, composed of Italian marble, oak floors and expansive glass façades, are strategically bundled to optimize natural light and enhance visual permeability. The volumetric composition balances privacy with openness, employing staggered massing to delineate social and private domains with precision.

Programmatically, the ground floor prioritizes communal living, featuring an open-plan configuration where the living area and kitchen extend onto generous terraces. It also accommodates private quarters, with a master suite designed as a self-contained retreat, complete with an en-suite bath and dedicated dressing area. The children’s rooms incorporate adaptable spatial strategies, allowing for future reconfiguration based on evolving needs. Upper level offers a more formal living space as well as a dining area.

Sustainability is embedded within the design through passive climate and lighting control strategies, maximizing energy efficiency. The landscape architecture employs many plant species while it reinforces the residence’s ecological coherence. Transition zones, including semi-enclosed terraces and shaded outdoor lounges function as spatial mediators, dissolving rigid boundaries between interior and exterior areas.
